About GasCheck

GasCheck is a free utility for everyday South Africans who rely on LPG for cooking, hot water, heating or weekend braais — plus the small fast-food shops that run on one or two cylinders a week.

Our mission

Smart gas monitors are useful, but most cost over R1,000 — out of reach for the households who would benefit most. GasCheck delivers the same "days remaining" insight using simple, transparent maths that run entirely in your browser.

How we calculate

Every LPG appliance has a megajoule-per-hour (MJ/h) rating. We multiply that by your daily usage in hours, then divide by the energy content of LPG (~49 MJ/kg) to get a daily kg burn rate. Combined with your cylinder size and fill level, that produces an honest depletion forecast.

Privacy

No accounts, no servers. Your cylinder configuration is stored only in your browser's local storage.
