1. Informational tool only

GasCheck ("the Service") is a free, browser-based estimator that predicts approximate LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinder depletion based on the inputs you provide. The Service is intended for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not a safety device, gauge, leak detector, or substitute for a physical inspection of your gas cylinder, regulator, hose or appliance.

2. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, GasCheck disclaims all warranties including, without limitation, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, non-infringement, and freedom from error or interruption. Calculations are estimates derived from typical appliance ratings and your self-reported usage; real consumption will vary.

3. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GasCheck, its owners, contributors and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business, savings, property or life arising out of or in connection with:

• your use of, or inability to use, the Service;
• reliance on any estimate, forecast, reminder, alert, calendar event or distributor listing;
• a cylinder running empty earlier or later than predicted;
• any gas leak, fire, explosion, burn, asphyxiation, carbon monoxide exposure, property damage, personal injury or death;
• any act, omission, product or service of a third-party distributor or supplier listed or linked from the Service;
• unavailability, delay, interruption, bug, data loss or browser notification that did not fire;
• any other unforeseen circumstance.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our aggregate liability to you is limited to ZAR 0 (zero rand), reflecting that the Service is provided free of charge.

4. Safety responsibilities of the user

You agree that you are solely responsible for:

• safe installation, storage, ventilation and operation of LPG cylinders and appliances;
• using a SAQCC-registered gas practitioner where required by law;
• regularly inspecting cylinders, hoses, regulators and connections for leaks or damage;
• physically checking your cylinder weight or level before assuming you have gas;
• following all manufacturer instructions and applicable South African regulations (including SANS 10087).

5. Third-party distributors

Distributor listings are provided as a convenience. GasCheck does not employ, endorse, certify, supervise or guarantee any distributor, and is not a party to any transaction you enter into with them. Any dispute, defect, injury or loss arising from a third-party distributor is solely between you and that distributor.

6. Notifications and reminders

Browser notifications and calendar exports are best-effort convenience features. They depend on your device, browser, operating system and network, and may fail to fire, arrive late, or not arrive at all. Do not rely on them as a safety mechanism.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt to disrupt it, reverse engineer it for a competing commercial product, scrape its content at scale, or use it in any way that violates applicable law.

8. Privacy

GasCheck does not require an account. Your cylinder configuration is stored locally in your browser. We do not sell personal information.

9. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
